Current Sim Racing Games in Development

1. Forza Motorsport

Turn 10 Studios is set to release the new Forza Motorsport in 2023. The game will include over 500 licensed cars along with 20 tracks. The Forza series tends land on the simcade side of things, but Microsoft has promoted that they are making numerous improvements to the driving physics. We will have see if the game actually takes some steps towards a more full simulation driving experience. The game is scheduled for release on October 10, 2023.

2. Rev to Vertex

Rev to Vertex is an RPG road racing game with realistic simulation driving physics. The game will feature a comprehensive damage model, upgradable and customizable cars, and detailed lidar based roads that recreate Hong Kong 1-to-1. The game is already partly available as a Demo, and we project that the game will be released in the fall of 2023.

3. WRC 23

EA Sports is scheduled to release WRC 23 later this year. This title is the official WRC rally racing game, and is expected to be similar to Dirt Rally 2.0. Currently the title is expected to be released in November, 2023.

4. Le Mans Ultimate

Le Mans Ultimate is currently being developed by Motorsport Games and is set for release in December 2023. This game is the official 24 Hours of Le Mans game, and will be highlighted by the current 2023 Hypercars which compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

5. Rennsport

Rennsport is targeting a December 2023 release date. The closed beta already launched last month. The game is being developed by the new studio, Competition Company GmbH, and is expected to feature a realistic simulation driving model, to support modding, and include lots of licensed content. 6. IndyCar

Due to ongoing financial troubles, Motorsport Games has delayed their Indycar game to 2024. The game will feature the Indycar season schedule, including the tracks and various versions of the current Indycar racecar.

7. Assetto Corsa 2

Assetto Corsa 2 is currently in development and has an announced release date of spring 2024. Assetto Corsa 2 will feature a range of road and race cars, detailed physics, tire simulations, and laser-scanned race tracks. However, earlier this week we projected that Assetto Corsa 2 will launch into early access in the fall of 2024, with the full 1.0 release coming in the spring of 2025.

8. GTR Revival

Straight4 Studios, led by Ian Bell, is currently working on a project titled “GTR Revival.” This game is set to follow the legendary status of the GTR series, which focused on the FIA GT Series. Straight4 Studios has also signed a publishing agreement with Plaion, bringing GTR Revival a step closer to release. However, a specific release date has not been announced yet.

9. PISTA Motorsport

PISTA Motorsport is an upcoming racing simulator that is currently in development by REG Simulations. The game is set to offer an in-depth career mode, taking players from the world of karting to the spotlight of Argentina’s national championships. A specific release date for PISTA Motorsport has not been announced.

10. Speed & Glory

Historic Sim Studios is developing a sim racing RPG game which will include a simulation driving experience and the ability for players to race through history in an in-depth career mode. A specific release date for Speed & Glory has not been announced.

11. Ages of Speed

A cartoon stylized sim racing game focusing on the different “ages” of racing history. The driving physics are a primary focus for the title. A specific release date for Ages of Speed has not been announced.

12. NASCAR Ignition

Due to ongoing financial troubles, Motorsports Games has also delayed their NASCAR game indefinitely. This game will be the sequel to the terrible NASCAR 21: Ignition.
